Modifier Sales Report

Track modifier usage with the Modifier Sales report. See how often modifiers are ordered, view sales totals for individual modifiers, and filter the report to customize the details.

Run the Report

In Ambur Cloud, run the Modifier Sales report to see modifiers sold during a specific time period.

You must be using Ambur version 2.9.1 or above to run this report. Visit our Update the Ambur App support article to learn how to update your app.

  1. Click 'Modifier Sales'.
  2. Hover over the views button to load a custom preset view.

  3. Hover over 'Time Period' to select a preset or custom time period.

Report Summary

The Summary section gives an overview of open and closed orders for the selected date range. View your modifier sales by staff, business location, or by any of the criteria mentioned below.

  1. Hover over 'Summarize' and select a summary type.

    Location | Shows total modifier sales for each active linked Ambur location.

    Menu Item | Shows total modifier sales for each menu item.

    Modifier | Gives total sales for each modifier.
    Modifiers are the options customers ask for when they order.

    Modifier Type | Summarizes sales for each modifier type.
    Modifier types are the groupings that contain modifier options.

    Staff | Gives each individual employee’s total modifier sales.

  2. (optional) Click the plus sign to select another option to organize your summary by.

    The summary will include columns for all selected summary types.

  3. Click any table header to sort ascending or descending.

    Ratio | Percentage the row represents of the total modifier sales.
    Count | Total number of modifiers sold.
    Gross | Total amount of revenue from the sale of modifiers.

Report Details

The Details section breaks down the Summary and shows every individual modifier that was sold.

Menu Item | Name of the menu item associated with each modifier.
Modifier Type | Name of the modifier type that the modifier is a part of.
Modifier | Name of the modifier that was sold.
Ratio | Percentage the row represents of the total modifier sales.
Count | Number of times that modifier was sold.
Gross | Total amount of revenue coming from sales of that modifier.

  1. Hover over 'Add columns' to select additional table columns.

    Location | Breaks down how many of each modifier was sold at each location.

    Order Ref | Gives the unique transaction ID number assigned to each order by Ambur.
    Click the Order Ref number to see a summary of the order.

    Staff | Shows how many of each modifier was sold by each staff member.

  2. (optional) Select multiple options to make the report more specific.

Filter the Report

Use the built-in filters to get the specific data you need. When you apply filters, the report displays only the modifier sales that match those parameters.

  1. Click a filter to expand its menu.
  2. Select value(s) for the filter.
  3. (optional) Click ‘Reset’ to remove all filters.

Save a Custom View

Save your customized Modifier Sales report so you can quickly return to that exact view later. Once a custom view is saved, it can be set as the default view that opens when the report is launched.

Save a Custom View

  1. Hover over the views button and select ‘Save my search as a view’.
  2. Enter a name and description of the view and click 'Save as view'.

    (optional) Check ‘Make this my default view’ to make it the default view that loads for the report.

Change the Default View

  1. Hover over the views button and select a view.
  2. Hover over the view button and click 'Set current view as default'.

Export the Report

Quickly export, send, share, or print a copy of your report to inform your line cooks and chefs about how much of each item to prep each day.

  1. Select 'Modifier Sales' from the Reports menu.
  2. Select a date range and filter the report, if necessary.
  3. Click 'Export'.
  4. Select 'Google Sheet', 'Email PDF...', 'Email Excel...', 'Share Link', or 'Print' from the dropdown menu.
  5. (Optional) If you select an email option, customize the email by entering recipients, a subject, and a message before clicking 'Send Email'.
