Shifts Report

Analyze user’s shifts with the Shifts report. See how many hours users have worked, wages earned, and much more!

Run the Report

In Ambur Cloud, run the Shifts report to see employee hours logged during a specific time period.

You must be using Ambur version 2.9.1 or above to run this report. Visit our Update the Ambur App support article if you need help updating.

  1. Click 'Shifts'
  2. Hover over the dropdown menu to load a custom preset reporting view.

    Hover over a preset to see its description.

  3. Hover over the calendar to select a time period.

Report Summary

The Summary section gives an overview of user shifts by menu period, location, user group, day of the week, time of day or by staff member.

  1. Hover over the menu and select a summary type.

    Location | Total logged hours by location.

    Staff | Total logged hours by individual user.

    User Group | Total logged hours of a specific user group, such as cashiers, servers, manager.

    Menu Period | Total logged hours for users during a particular menu period (Breakfast, Lunch, etc).

    Day of week | Total logged hours for all users by day of the week.

  2. (Optional) click the plus sign to select another option to organize your summary by.

    The summary will include columns for to all selected summary types.

  3. Click any table header to sort ascending or descending.

    Staff | Name of user.
    Shifts | The number of shifts the user has worked during the given time period.
    Hours | Total number of hours logged by user in decimal hours.
    Rate | Hourly pay rate of user.
    Wages | Amount earned by user based on number of hours logged.
    Cash Tips | Total amount of cash gratuity received.
    Net Income | Total amount earned by user. (Wages + Cash Tips)

Report Details

The details section breaks down the Summary and shows each individual user’s information.

Staff | Name of user.
Clock In | Time of user clock in.
Clock Out | Time of user clock out.
User Group | Category that the user belongs to.
Shifts | The number of shifts logged.
Hours | Total number of hours logged by user in decimal hours.
Rate | Hourly pay rate of user.
Wages | Amount earned by user based on number of hours logged.
Cash Tips | Total amount of cash gratuity received.
Net Income | Total amount earned by user. (Wages + Cash Tips)

  1. To add additional columns to the table, hover over 'Drill down by' and select an option.

    Location | Adds a column to display the location of the shift.

Filters

Use the built-in filters to get the specific data you need. When you apply filters, the report displays only the shifts that match those parameters.

  1. Click a filter to expand its menu.
  2. Click to select a value(s) for the filter.
  3. (optional) Click ‘Reset’ to remove all filters.

Save a Custom View

Save your customized Shifts report so you can quickly return to that exact view later. Once a custom view is saved, it can be set as the default view that opens when the report is launched.

Save a Custom View

  1. Hover over ‘Custom View’ and select ‘Save view as’.
  2. Select a new default view for the report and click 'Save'.

Change Default View

  1. Hover over the name of the view and select ‘Change default view’.
  2. Select a new default view for the report and click 'Save'.

Export the Report

Quickly export, send, share, or print a copy to easily send a monthly report to your Shift Manager and Scheduling Managers.

  1. Select 'Shifts' from the Reports menu.
  2. Select a date range and filter the report, if necessary.
  3. Click 'Export'.
  4. Select 'Google Sheet', 'Email PDF...', 'Email Excel...', 'Share Link', or 'Print' from the dropdown menu.
  5. (Optional) If you select an email option, customize the email by entering recipients, a subject, and a message before clicking 'Send Email'.
