Settings

Adjust Ambur’s settings to customize how the app looks and functions for all users. Set receipts to print automatically, display order totals on the table layout, and much more.

Customize Settings

Navigate to the Settings screen from the Management menu to see a list of all available settings.

  1. Tap 'Management' and select 'Settings'.
  2. Tap individual settings to toggle them on/off or to make a selection.

    Accept Tips | Toggle this off if the restaurant does not allow employees to accept tips.
    Auto Add Customers | Adds a customer to the register database and to the order when a user swipes a credit card. (not currently available)
    Auto Close On Full Cash Payment | Closes orders automatically when paid in full with cash.
    Auto Close On Full CC Payment | Closes orders automatically when paid in full by credit card.
    Auto Logout After | Choose the amount of time it takes for an idle user to be logged out.

    Auto Print Credit Checks | Controls whether signature receipts print automatically when a user charges a customer’s credit card.
    Current CC Ref # | Change the number related to the current credit transaction. This automatically resets to 1 each time a user settles a batch.
    Current Order # | Displays the current order number. Tap to change it.
    Hide Currency Symbol on Receipts | Toggle to show or hide currency symbols ($) on receipts. This only affects receipts printed on the SP700 printer.

    Login Screen Message | Enter a message to appear on the login screen for employees.
    Merge Policy | Determines whether identical line items on an order merge into a single line item.
    Open Cash Drawer on Order close | Opens the cash drawer each time a user closes an order.
    PAX CC mode | Select a mode to enable on the PAX credit card reader. (not currently available)

    Print Receipt on Order Close | Automatically prints a receipt each time a user closes an order.
    Receipt Footer | Prints at the bottom of receipts.
    Receipt Header | Prints at the top of receipts.
    Show Order Information Prompt | If toggled on, a pop-up prompts the user to enter an order name and number of guests when they start an order.

    Show Order Total in Table Layout | Shows the total order amount on the table layout.
    Show Reprint Warning | Adds a message to reprinted kitchen tickets stating that the printout is a re-print and not a new order.
    Tax Inclusive Pricing | If on, tax is backed out of the unit price of items If off, tax is added on top of the unit price.
    Use Table Layout | Makes the table layout the default screen that opens whenever someone logs in.
    Default Order Type | Tap to select a default order type to automatically apply to all new orders.

Settings Permissions

Use Permissions to fine tune what a group of users can access on the Settings screen.

  1. Go to 'Permissions' and select a user group.
  2. Choose 'Settings'.
  3. Modify permissions as needed:

    Select ‘Hide’, ‘View’, or ‘Edit’ next to each setting.

    Hide | User Group cannot see the setting.
    View | Ability to view but not change the setting.
    Edit | User group can make changes to the setting.
