Printing Tickets and Receipts

With the receipt and ticket printer hardware set up, start printing receipts for customer orders and tickets for kitchen prep staff.

Receipt Printing

Configure receipts to print automatically when closing an order or manually print them as needed.

Set Up Automatic Printing

Set up receipts to print automatically when a user closes an order.

  1. Tap 'Management' and select 'Printers'.
  2. Choose a receipt printer.
  3. Tap 'Add closed order devices' and select devices that should print to this printer.
  4. Tap 'Management' and select 'Settings'.
  5. Toggle 'Auto Close After Full Payment' to 'Yes'.
  6. Complete an order and the receipt prints automatically.

Manually Print Receipts from Open Orders

Print receipts at any time for Open Orders from the order screen.

  1. Pick an open order.
  2. Tap 'Receipt'.
  3. (optional) Select a printer.

    Link this device to a receipt printer as a ‘Customer Receipt Device’ to avoid manually selecting a printer.

Manually Print Receipts from Closed Orders

Print receipts for closed orders from the closed order list.

  1. Tap 'Closed' and choose an order.
  2. Tap the action button and select 'Receipt'.
  3. (optional) Pick a printer.

    Link this device to a receipt printer as a ‘Customer Receipt Device’ to avoid manually selecting a printer.

Reprint Receipts by Customer

Orders that have a customer assigned to them can be reprinted from the Customers screen.

  1. Tap 'Management' and select 'Customers'.
  2. Choose a customer from the list and pick an order.

  3. Tap the Action icon and choose 'Receipt'
  4. (optional) Select a printer.

Kitchen Ticket Printing

Kitchen tickets tell prep staff what to make and how to make it.

Printer Group Setup

Printer groups manage which menu items print to which kitchen printer.

  1. Tap 'Management' and select 'Printer Groups'.
  2. Choose the + button to create a new group.

    Or, pick an existing one to edit.

  3. Fill in the required information:

    Name | What the printer group is called.
    Menu Items | Tap to assign menu items to the group.
    Printers | Tap to select the printer where menu items will print.
    Skip User Groups | Items do not print when an order belongs to a user from a group selected here. Ex: Bartenders do not need a ticket to print for drinks they ring in themselves.

With the ticket printer and printer groups set up, send tickets right from the register.

  1. Add menu items to an open order and tap 'Send'.

Reprint Kitchen Tickets from Open Orders

If a ticket is lost, destroyed, or an extra copy is required, reprint it from the register.

  1. Pick an open order.
  2. Tap 'Ticket'.
  3. Choose a printer.

Reprint Kitchen Tickets from Closed Orders

Reprint kitchen tickets for closed orders from the closed order list.

  1. Tap 'Closed' and choose an order.
  2. Tap the Action icon and select 'Ticket'.
  3. Pick a printer.

Printer Group Permissions

Use permissions to fine tune what a group of users can access when adding or editing printer groups.

  1. Go to 'Permissions' and choose a user group.
  2. Select 'Printer Group' from the Permissions options.
  3. Modify permissions as needed.

    Toggle whether users in the group can add or delete printer groups.

    Select ‘Hide’, ‘View’, or ‘Edit’ next to each feature.

    Hide | User Group cannot see the feature at the register.
    View | Ability to view but not change the feature.
    Edit | User group can make changes to the feature.
