Modifiers give customers choices for the menu items they order. Use modifiers for everything from dish preparation (rare, medium, etc.) to side choices for entrées.

Create a Modifier

Modifiers are groups of options that customers can choose from. Set up a modifier, attach the menu items that require it, and add its various options.

  1. Tap 'Management' and select 'Modifiers'.
  2. Tap the + button to create a new modifier.
  3. Fill in the required information.

    Name | What the modifier is called.
    Maximum to Choose | Number of modifier options a user can select at once. Enter 0 for no limit.
    Allow Custom Entry? | Lets users enter a one-time custom option for a special request.

  4. Tap 'Add menu item' and select items that require this modifier.

  5. Tap 'Add option' to create a new option.

    Options are the actual choices customers make when they order.

  6. Tap the option and select 'Edit'.
  7. Fill in the required information.

    Name | What the option is called.
    Price | The menu item price increases by this amount when the option is selected.
    Rank | Number that determines the order options appear in. 0 is first, 1 is after that, etc.

  8. Tap the name of the modifier to return to the modifier screen.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 to add all necessary options.

Modifier Permissions

Use Permissions to fine tune what a group of users can access when creating or editing modifiers.

  1. Go to 'Permissions' and select a user group.
  2. Choose 'Modifier'.
  3. Modify permissions as needed:

    Toggle whether users in the group can add or delete modifiers.

    Select Hide, View, or Edit next to each feature.

    Hide | User Group cannot see the feature at the register.
    View | Ability to view but not change the feature.
    Edit | User group can make changes to the feature.
